Ford Cab Styles: What Cab Style is Best for You?

Ford Truck Cab Styles

The Ford lineup consists of three truck cab styles. Here are the three you can pick.

Standard Cab (aka regular cab):

The Ford Standard Cab is the smallest option you can choose. This trim level features two doors and one row of seats. Typically, these can be configured with the largest truck bed, designed mainly for work.

SuperCab (aka extended cab):

The SuperCab is larger than the Standard Cab. It's been one of the more popular options because two rows of seats are available, so there's room to hold up to six people. However, there aren't full-size rear doors. Instead, the back doors are rear-hinged, meaning the front doors must be opened to get into the cab's rear.

SuperCrew (aka crew cab):

The SuperCrew Ford is the largest cab configuration offered by the automaker. With this cab configuration, you also get two rows of seats capable of holding up to six people. However, the truck includes a four-door body, so you don't need to open the front doors to access the rear. 

Ford F-150 Cab Styles

The 2023 Ford F-150 comes in a variety of trim levels. Each of these trim levels can be configured in several ways, and let's take a closer look at what cab configurations you can choose with each model.

What Cabs are Available for Each Trim Level?

• XL | Standard, SuperCab, SuperCrew
• XLT | Standard, SuperCab, SuperCrew
• Lariat | SuperCrew
• Tremor | SuperCrew
• King Ranch | SuperCrew
• Platinum | SuperCrew
• Limited | SuperCrew
• Raptor | SuperCrew

Ford F-150 Truck Bed Options

The 2023 Ford F-150 comes with three truck bed options. You can choose the 5.5', 6.5', or 8' options. The shortest truck bed is only offered with the SuperCrew cab configuration. However, the midsize bed can be equipped with any cab option, giving you maximum flexibility. If you prefer the largest truck bed, only the Regular and SuperCab are options, meaning you must give up some passenger space to haul as much cargo as possible. 

Ford Ranger Cab Styles

You can't choose the Standard cab configuration with a 2023 Ford Ranger. Instead, this Ford truck only comes with a SuperCab or SuperCrew option.

Ford Ranger Truck Bed Options

You can choose a 5' or 6' truck bed with the Ford Ranger. However, the SuperCrew will only come with a 5' truck bed, so you reduce some bed space to include a spacious cabin for your passengers.
